Water Damage in Affton

The water line burst under the sink in the Affton home and covered the hardwood flooring with sufficient water to cause severe water damage. The planks lifted up from the subfloor and cupped and warped within two days while the homeowners were out of town. Our SERVPRO team was called in to salvage what was possible and to minimize costs. We suctioned up the standing water using special mats that draw the moisture from the underlay by way of the plank joints. We lifted and removed some pieces that needed replacing to simplify and accelerate the drying process. Our air movers and dehumidifiers finished the drying, and we verified with our moisture meters that the area was dry and ready to reinstall most of the boards. Our customers were delighted with the results of our drying methodology; we saved them lots of money and a little aggravation.
