Fire Damage in a Shrewsbury Attic

An electrical short caused smoke damage to the attic crawl in this high-end home in Shrewsbury. The smoldering effect of the insulation had coated the roof sheathing with a smoky residue. The homeowner wanted to replace all the insulation and restore his home to its pre-loss condition. We discarded the batten insulation and wiped down the dry smoke coating in the attic. We used several hydroxyl generators to purge the odors and restore normal indoor air quality to the home. We lightly fogged a deodorizer and then painted the sheathing with a primer to contain any remnants of odors or dirt. The homeowner was extremely pleased, "Like it never even happened."
